Election 2010 survey
We had an excellent response to our election survey - thanks for your comments. Over 56% of the respondents told us that they may change their vote in the next federal election, with a further 21% already deciding to change to the other party in this election.
We didn't exactly predict the massive swing that occurred against the government, but there were clear signs pointing that way!

Point of view: pay equity and workplace culture
Pay equity is still a major issue for Australian women. In response to feedback that we need to continue to raise awareness about the pay gap and women's experiences in the workplace, we have conducted two surveys seeking opinions about pay equity.
Background information on pay equity is provided in our reference library.
The results of the latest survey has formed part of 2020women's submission to the Commonwealth Office for Women as part of their review into the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (EOWW Act).
In this survey, women told us that they are losing out in pay negotiations, and that they are not optimistic that workplace discrimination in Australia will improve.

Point of view: pay equity
Over 700 women responded to our first survey on pay equity. The results showed that pay equity is seen as a very important issue. There is a strong perception that there are still significant differences between male and female earnings although there is some confusion over how much improvement there has been over the last 20 years. In fact, this lack of understanding that no real gains have been made for 20 years in quite disturbing, particularly in younger women who believe this issue has been resolved.
A significant number of women believe that men and women are not treated equally in the workplace, and a high number have personal experience of this.
