Australia day awards for good women
Australia day awards this year celebrated the work of many good women, including Western Australian Claudia Keech who was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the community through raising awareness of the issues surrounding the roles of women in the workforce and at home.
Claudia is the founder of Motherinc, (an online magazine for women) an author and a champion of modern mothers.
Motherinc was first set up in 2001, and covers a wide range of issues that are of interest for young mothers.
Congratulations Claudia - the OAM is well-deserved.
Congratulations also to the many other women who received awards this year. Good work!

Congratulations Claudia I am always so pleased to see women that have worked so hard be reocognised at such a high level. I too was an award recipient for a Fire medal in 2004 at that stage there were only 12 women out of a possible 500. Every year I look at the fire recipeints and unformatnately the women in my old industry seem to be less and less, it is dissapointing but always glad to see women being recognised for thier work. Congratulations also to all the woman who recieved awards, and if you know a woman thats makes a great contribution how about you nominate them next time.
