Actions speak louder than ockerisms
What is it about our Prime Minister lately? By talking like an ocker he totally succeeded in distracting the media from the question of why the new jobs in the recent Ministerial reshuffle went to blokes and not to women, and then he refers to Kate Ellis, the only woman given a bigger job in the reshuffle, as 'Young Kate''.
His response to a question about the paucity of women promoted in the recent reshuffle was brilliant: 'Fair shake of the sauce bottle mate, if you were to compare what this government has done in terms of the promotion of women of talent and ability compared with our predecessors, it's chalk and cheese. . . fair shake of the sauce bottle mate,'
As I said, brilliant. Everyone immediately stopped focussing on the issue of pandering to the blokes at the expense of the women, and started focussing on his terrible use of ockerisms.
He also said at one stage that the reshuffle was based on merit - but if that's the case, he must be saying that the majority of women aren't performing as well as the blokes. I don't think so. You'd have to be as blind as a bandicoot to overlook the talented women in this government.
Sorry Kevin, actions speak louder than words. Even when the words are true blue Aussie.
We didn't come down in the last shower, you know.
You'd better do something to fix the poor impression you are making on us sheilas before the next election or a few old chooks might turn into emus and kick your dunny down.
